Full Review

$20 off your first purchase. The Lane Bryant Credit Card, also known as the Lane Bryant Preferred Card, saves you $20 right off the bat. That’s nice and all, but it’s worth noting that other store cards offer as much as 30% off your entire first purchase, which could prove more lucrative.

Get 5% back at Lane Bryant. You’ll receive 15 points for every $1 in Lane Bryant purchases that you charge to your Lane Bryant Card. Considering that 3000 points are needed for a $10 gift certificate, your earning rate translates to 5% “cash” back. And that’s what most of the best store credit cards offer on an ongoing basis, according to WalletHub’s database.

Enjoy rewards at Catherines too. Most store credit cards only let you make purchases from one retail brand, but the Lane Bryant Credit Card is a bit different. You can also use it as Catherines, where you will earn 1 point per $1 spent. That works out to 2.5% back, which is a nice bonus if you sometimes shop at Catherines but prefer Lane Bryant. But if the former is your go-to, the Catherines Credit Card is a much better option.

No annual fee, but make sure to pay in full. The fact that the Lane Bryant Store Card does not charge an annual fee means it is about $19.76 per year cheaper than the average credit card, market-wide, according to WalletHub research. But that doesn’t distinguish the Lane Bryant Card from other store credit cards, nearly all of which also lack annual fees. Unfortunately, the Lane Bryant Card does trail the pack a bit when it comes to interest rates, as its APR is well above the store-card average of 23.93%. So you definitely don’t want to carry a balance from month to month with this particular piece of plastic.

All you need is fair credit. The Lane Bryant Credit Card requires at least “fair” credit for approval. So make sure to check your credit score before applying.

Lane Bryant Credit Card Review

Sams Credit Card

The Sam’s Club Credit Card, issued by Synchrony Bank, is a basic store credit card for Sam’s Club members with a less-than-stellar credit profile. The Sam’s Club Credit Card can only be used at Sam’s Club and Walmart stores and doesn’t offer any rewards on purchases, so it’s mainly for borrowers who aren’t likely to qualify for a better credit card that can be used more broadly. If your credit is just fair (if you have a FICO score of 580 to 669) and you shop at Sam’s Club and Walmart frequently, this card can be a worthwhile financing tool, albeit with a steep interest rate.

Big Lots Credit Card

The Big Lots Credit Card is a good choice for frequent Big Lots shoppers who want the flexibility to pay for their purchases over time. If you can handle the deferred-interest financing deals properly, you can save a lot of money and gain the flexibility around paying your credit card bill. Most people, however, will be better off with a cash-back card that works anywhere and earns rewards of some kind. Try the CardCruncher tool to find the right card for you.
