Points equal 4% “cash” back. You will generally earn 1 point for every $1 you charge to the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card, which is pretty much the market average for a rewards card. But while most credit card points are worth about a penny apiece, the Victoria’s Secret Card gives you quadruple the value. Every 250 points that you earn gets you a $10 credit. That’s obviously not true cash back, but it might as well be if you regularly shop at Victoria’s Secret.

Fees aren’t a concern, but interest is. The Victoria’s Secret Card does not charge an annual fee, so you won’t feel any pressure to get your money’s worth. You should, however, make sure to pay your bill every month. Because Victoria is hiding a Secret in her card terms, and it’s a lofty APR. For context, the average credit card for fair credit charges 22.84%.

At least someone will give you a birthday gift. You will receive a $10 credit each year on your birthday. That’s certainly a nice gesture. You just need to make sure this modest gift doesn’t lead you to spend more at Victoria’s Secret than you would otherwise.

Not a bad way to build credit. You only need “fair” credit to qualify for the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card, which means it could help you establish credit history or perhaps continue rebuilding from previous mistakes. If you don’t know your credit score, you can check it for free on WalletHub.

Solid reviews. It’s always good to see what fellow consumers have to say about a product, so make sure to read some of the following Victoria’s Secret Credit Card reviews before submitting an application. For what it’s worth, the card has an average rating of 3.9/5 by WalletHub users.

Victoria's Secret Credit Card Review

Sams Credit Card

The Sam’s Club Credit Card, issued by Synchrony Bank, is a basic store credit card for Sam’s Club members with a less-than-stellar credit profile. The Sam’s Club Credit Card can only be used at Sam’s Club and Walmart stores and doesn’t offer any rewards on purchases, so it’s mainly for borrowers who aren’t likely to qualify for a better credit card that can be used more broadly. If your credit is just fair (if you have a FICO score of 580 to 669) and you shop at Sam’s Club and Walmart frequently, this card can be a worthwhile financing tool, albeit with a steep interest rate.

Big Lots Credit Card

The Big Lots Credit Card is a good choice for frequent Big Lots shoppers who want the flexibility to pay for their purchases over time. If you can handle the deferred-interest financing deals properly, you can save a lot of money and gain the flexibility around paying your credit card bill. Most people, however, will be better off with a cash-back card that works anywhere and earns rewards of some kind. Try the CardCruncher tool to find the right card for you.

The Surge Mastercard® is one of the easiest credit cards to get if you have bad credit, but the card's annual and monthly fees may reduce its appeal. If you're considering the Surge Mastercard® to build credit, here's what you need to know before you submit your application.
