Full Review

For loyal brand shoppers, store credit cards can often unlock exclusive deals and rewards that encourage consumers to keep coming back. Unfortunately, the David's Bridal Credit Card doesn't offer much in the way of valuable extras. In general, the only real reason to pick up a David's Bridal Credit Card is to take advantage of the special financing deal, which provides six months of interest-free financing for qualified applicants.

But make sure you read the fine print before accepting the David's Bridal Credit Card's special financing. That's because the card uses deferred interest financing, which means you'll need to pay off your entire purchase before the six months are up to avoid being charged interest. If any of your balance remains after the financing terms expire, you'll be required to pay interest fees on the full purchase amount.

Given that the David's Bridal Credit Card has a massive 28.49% APR, the interest fees you'll be charged when your special financing runs out won't be cheap. For example, a $1,000 dress will cost an extra $140 after six months of accruing interest with a 28% APR — hardly a deal. And it's not as if no interest for six months means you won't need to make payments; you'll still be on the hook for minimum monthly payments throughout your interest-free promotional period.

Another downside of the David's Bridal Credit Card is that it can't be used anywhere but David's Bridal, which severely limits its utility, especially if you don't want to buy everything you need for your big day at one store.

Plus, there isn't much to recommend the David's Bridal Credit Card outside of the special financing. Unlike most store cards, the David's Bridal Credit Card doesn't have any purchase rewards at all, nor does it offer free shipping or come with any other cardholder perks except for the nebulous promise of occasional cardholder promotions.

David's Bridal Credit Card Review

Sams Credit Card

The Sam’s Club Credit Card, issued by Synchrony Bank, is a basic store credit card for Sam’s Club members with a less-than-stellar credit profile. The Sam’s Club Credit Card can only be used at Sam’s Club and Walmart stores and doesn’t offer any rewards on purchases, so it’s mainly for borrowers who aren’t likely to qualify for a better credit card that can be used more broadly. If your credit is just fair (if you have a FICO score of 580 to 669) and you shop at Sam’s Club and Walmart frequently, this card can be a worthwhile financing tool, albeit with a steep interest rate.

Most people, however, will be better off with a cash-back card that works anywhere and earns rewards of some kind. Try the CardCruncher tool to find the right card for you.
